Weekly Reading Logs are due every Friday. They will be passed out at the beginning of every week. Every student is responsible for reading for 15 minutes every school night, writing a 2-3 sentence summary about what they read and having their parents intial the log. This is considered homework and counts towards the homework part at the end of every month.
Reading Counts
We are just getting started on trying to reach our end of the year goal of 150 Reading counts points for every student. Please encourage your student to be reading at home and taking their tests at school to reach their goal! We don't want any students to miss out on reaching such an important goal and the fun celebration of their hard work at the end of the year!
Dressing Appropriately
Now is the time of year when the temperatures are all over the place. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for outside recess. If students aren’t dressed appropriately, they may be asked to stay inside while the rest of the classes go out. Please make sure your child is bringing a light jacket to school everyday as the weather lately has been changing very quickly.
School Dress Code
Flip Flops are a safety concern at recess when students are running around outside and they are also against school dress code. All sandals must have backs if they are worn during the school day. Thank you so much for your cooperation.
A few additional reminders...
Please help monitor and make sure your child is not bringing toys from home to school.
Check take home folders every night for any important notes, homework and graded papers and tests to keep track of how your student is doing and what we are studying.
Practice your multiplication math facts every night for 15 minutes. Please help your student be successful and make it fun, turn doing math facts into a game.
Classroom Donations
We always on the go, here are some things that we tend to use up or run out of often: candy, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, dry erase markers and trash bags. If you would like to donate any of these items to your students classroom it would be greatly appriciated! Also you can always donate your time as well if you have a free hour or two in your week to come in and volunteer in the classroom. I can always use help making copies, helping create fun centers and games for the students to do, reading with students and helping them practice their math facts. Thanks to those of you who have already donated and volunteered your time. We really appreciate it!
