About Mrs. Bland
I am so excited to get this year started and underway. I can't wait to meet and get to know all of you all throughout the year! Here is a little bit about me.
I grew up in Lexington, Kentucky and graduated from Bryan Station High School and then earned my Bachelors Degree at Eastern Kentucky University in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Kindergarten and Early Childhood Development. I am surrently working on my masters in Education Administration at Xavier University and hope to finish up this summer. I knew from an early age I wanted to be a teacher and am so blessed I get to live out my dream everyday. This is my fifth year teaching and my third year teaching third grade and at Whites Tower Elementary. Before coming to Whites Tower I taught fourth grade in Lexington for two years.
I moved to the area after marrying my wonderful husband, Brian. We have been married about three years and have a spoiled rotten, four leg baby named Max. I enjoy going back home to visit my family and spending time with my friends. There is nothing better on a rainy day than a good book and a cup of coffee. After spending a few days in my classroom most of my students can always tell my favorite colors are blue and green. I love skittles, snickers and gum. We are going to have a blast learning this year!
"Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. Remember that fear always lerks behind perfectionism." Dr. David Burns
